1
Brush your teeth three times a day. A healthy tooth and gum line will promote proper salivation, which hopefully keep your mouth moist and fresh. In addition, there are a few toothpastes on the market that help target dry mouth. Include these into your daily routine for best results.

2
Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Adults are recommended six to eight glasses every day. Consuming this much water will help ensure that your mouth stays hydrated and will be less irritable.

Visit your dentist at least twice a year. Dry mouth can lead to gum disease and other deformities and should be dealt with if it is serious. A dentist can recommend a routine that will ideally keep your mouth moist and healthy.

4
Chew gum whenever your mouth feels dry. Gum will naturally produce saliva and keep your mouth from drying up while you chew it. Gum is inexpensive and something you can carry along with you at all times.

Consult a physician if no other options seem to take care of your dry mouth problem. There are various medications that can be prescribed. Tell the doctor your symptoms and pay attention to when the dry mouth seems to be at its worst. There can be different causes if your problems occur while sleeping as opposed to after you eat a meal. Be prepared and precise to make the visit easy.
