1
Get your accessories. Raving is done with the use of a glowing object which you hold in your hands. This object can be a glow stick or a flashlight depending on what is comfortable for you.
-
2
Determine your lead hand. Raving is a form of dance where your hands are involved. In order to move your hands in the correct motions, you will need to determine your lead hand. If you are right-handed it is your right hand, and vice versa if you are left-handed.

3
Form a figure eight with your finger. Because raving is about the hands, one of the first ways to get your hands involved is by drawing a figure eight in the air with your finger. Once you have mastered drawing the eight with your finger, trace the number in the air with your lit object.
-
4
Use both hands. You will want to get both of your hands involved in dancing when you are raving. Once you are comfortable drawing the figure eight with one hand, use the other hand to draw another figure eight. Start with one hand and follow with the other.
-
5
Make circles, twist your hands, or do anything that continues to make the lights move while you are dancing. Once you have the figure eight down, your hands will flow into other movements.
-
6
Don't stop dancing. Even if you are doing a move that you don’t think looks right, as long as the lights are moving, your movement can be considered raving.
-
7
Go to a rave with a buddy or a group. Have fun, but be cautious of the people that you don't know.
