Build a House Out of Playing Cards
-
1
Find a flat surface to build your playing card house on. If the surface is not flat, like a table, your house might not stand. You can also place a hard surface such as a piece of cardboard onto the carpet. The flat surface creates your platform.
-
2
Cheat if you must by using the carpet to build your playing card house on. Carpet is actually great for holding your first layer of cards in place. It's up to you rather you're up to a challenge or not. Building your playing card house on a smooth surface is much more difficult than building it on the carpet.

3
Start building your playing card house by taking 2 playing cards and setting them on your platform perpendicular to each other; one resting against the other.
-
4
Continue to rest one playing card at a time up against another until you have about a 12 by 12 square built on your platform. Once you are content with your base, begin laying playing cards on top of the square construction. This is your roof.
-
5
Building the second story of your playing card house requires repeating the same process on top of your deck of card roof. Be careful. It's a little trickier once you start building on top of the cards. They are slippery and the cards are apt to fall.
-
6
Repeat each step the same as above for each story of your playing card house. You can build as many stories as you desire, just remember, the higher you go, the more there is to fall if perhaps you do make a mistake.

Tips & Warnings
Most playing cards have a type of smooth covering that makes the cards slippery. If you want to avoid making a playing card house that slips and slides all over the place, look for a deck of playing cards that are not coated.
It's a good idea to avoid using your good playing cards to build a house with. Cards can get damaged in the card house building process. You wouldn't want to sit down with a group of friends to play poker and have your cards all bent and torn.
