Your tub can look beautiful and shiny with very little effort.

Do you sometimes wish you had a magical formula for cleaning your bathtub that didn't involve scrubbing for hours? It doesn't have to take much to get your tub sparkling clean. You just need a few minutes and a little bit of scrubbing to make your bathroom look great. Read on to learn how to clean the tub.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tub cleaning product
  • Cleaning sponge or cloth
  • Rubber gloves (if desired)
  1. Step 1

Assemble your cleaning tools. You really don't need too many supplies. All you really need is some kind of mild abrasive cleaner, a sponge or cleaning cloth, and rubber gloves if you wish to protect your hands.

  2. Step 2

Wet the tub down. This allows the cleaner to be more effective.

  3. Step 3

Spray or spread your cleaner around and wait several minutes. Give the cleaner time to do its job and really sink in.

  4. Step 4

Scrub tub down. Using your sponge or cloth, scrub the tub, paying special attention to any areas that are especially grimy.

  5. Step 5

Rinse the tub. Once you have scrubbed the tub thoroughly, rinse the tub out with clean water.

  6. Step 6

Take a good look at your tub. If it sparkles and looks shiny, you are finished. If you still see grime, repeat from Step 3 until you are satisfied with the results.

Tips & Warnings
  • Rinse your tub after each use. That way, you can remove hair and soap scum before they build up.
  • Your tub will be easier to clean if you regularly clean and maintain it. Try cleaning the tub once a week.
  • If you maintain a regular cleaning schedule, your tub will look better each time you clean it.
  • Cleaning products can produce damaging fumes, so be sure your bathroom has proper ventilation as you clean.
  • Be sure not to use harsh cleaning products or use a metal cleaning brush. You don't want to scratch your tub.
