Make a Crepe Paper Windsock
Step1
Cut six crepe paper streamers, each about 24 to 30 inches long.
Step2
Place the short ends of the streamers along the long edge of the construction paper. Overlap the streamers with the construction paper by about 1/2 inch. Tape the streamers to the paper.
Step3
Flip the paper over, taking care not to tear the streamers. Decorate the paper with markers, crayons, stickers, scraps of colored paper or glitter. Leave 1/2 inch along each short edge plain.
Step4
Overlap the short ends of the construction paper about 1/2 inch, forming a tube. Tape the ends of the construction paper together. To make the windsock extra secure, you might want to use tape along the outside and the inside of the overlapping edges.
Step5
Punch three holes close to the top edge of the construction paper, spacing the holes evenly around the windsock.
Step6
Cut three pieces of yarn or string, each about 6 inches long. Insert the end of each piece of yarn or string through one of the holes. Tie each piece of yarn or string to the top of the windsock. Tie the tops of the three pieces of yarn or string together.
Step7
Cut a piece of string long enough to make a loop for hanging the windsock. Slip this piece of yarn or string through the other loops of yarn and tie the ends in a knot.
