Rappelz is a fast-growing free massive multi-player online role playing game. The fact that Rappelz has tons of missions, detailed worlds, truly playable characters and awesome graphics has people drifting away from the $10 a month games to this product by the Korean company Gpotato (creators of Flyff). Although the community is friendly and there are many people willing to help, starting off in Rappelz can be a little frustrating. Like real life, the fun begins at 40 because you get more weapons, armor and upgrade choices (also known as R 2). Plus you have more effective dungeon parties and pets. This article will show you how to reach level 40 fast in Rappelz.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Take advantage of Trainee Island. Mobs (enemy monsters) are easy to kill on Trainee Island. The missions are simple, too. You may be tempted to complete everything step by step. That's fine. But the real benefits of Trainee Island are people who don't know how to pick up things. And items equal cash. And cash equals getting the items you need. After you get your weapons and basic armor, run around Trainee Island on the path towards town.

  2. Step 2

Get a pet. Get a pet as soon as you can, preferably a pantera. Panteras add some great offense quickly. Practice coordinating attacks with your pet so that you can end one attack with the pet and start another on your own, having your pet join you once he's finished with the first mob.

  3. Step 3

Maximize the stamina drinks and tents. Don't drink them until right when you reach an area you plan on sticking around in for awhile. Hopefully you have picked an area where you can continuously kill mobs that net you as close to 1000 experience points as you can get. The more stamina you have, the more bonus experience points you gain for every mob that you kill. Wait until your trainee tent is used up before drinking the stamina potions. This will speed up your leveling exponentially.

  4. Step 4

Go to Horizen and get blessed. Once you leave Trainee Island you should be about level 20, maybe 25. No matter what type of character you are, start off in Horizen. Horizen has the friendliest of players and the quests are real close to town. You don't have to fly down to the island like in Lasky or navigate the long, dirt roads in Katan. Before you leave town, get blessed by a cleric. Ask or trade "buffs," which are spells that increase your skills and abilities. With higher skills you can defeat tougher mobs for more experience.

  5. Step 5

Pick up and sell the scraps. If you have reached level 30 you may be tempted to start joining the dungeon parties. Do not do that. At level 30 you will die more than you will live in the dungeons, slowly losing experience and possibly de-leveling. Instead focus on those quests from Horizen or go to the Lasky Island towards the faerie area. People often farm (kill the same mob over and over again) faeries in hopes to get a rare faerie card worth millions in the game. They usually leave behind the money and stones the faeries drop. Pick up all the cash and free stuff and sell goods at the stores. Take all that money and upgrade your armor at the blacksmith.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be careful when partnering up with other people. Most people are friendly and mean well but their experience levels may be too high or too low for you. It may not be worth doubling the number of mobs you kill if you are only getting half the experience you deserve.
  • Sell any resurrection and return scrolls you collect past 15. Devote all your money to upgrading your equipment at the blacksmith.
  • Counter-poison potions are worthless to keep. You never get poisoned. Sell those, too.
