The sun is shining brightly, a light breeze in the air making the temperature just right. The only thing wrong is you have bills to pay so you have to stay inside. If only there was some way for you to be able to work and be outside so that you can still pay those bills and enjoy a beautiful day.

Set up seats for guests/clients that might wander into your new office. Plug in a laptop computer to extend the battery life and plug in any other office equipment. Use a caddy to keep office supplies such as pens, pencils, scissors and high-lighters close at hand.

  3. Step 3
Phone books and other books used in your work will keep papers from flying away and clipboards will keep them from flying away when you need to use the phonebook.

Place important papers in a clipboard to prevent them from blowing away and/or place a phone book on them to keep them from blowing away. Use a spiral notebook instead of loose pieces of paper or sticky notes to keep your notes in your outdoor office and to keep you from having to chase after them. A book will also keep the pages from being disturbed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep your office close to a door so you can get any equipment, papers or books inside quickly incase of an unexpected afternoon thunderstorm.
  • Check the noise level to make sure it will be quiet enough if you will have to use the phone.
  • Don’t become so involved in your work that you aren’t paying attention to your surroundings if you are not in a secure area.
