Things You'll Need

  • 4 tbsp. fresh or dried herbs
  • 2 tsp. essential oils or fragrance oils
  • 1/2 pint mineral water
  • 1/2 pint mild shampoo or liquid soap
  • Medium saucepan
  • Strainer or colander
  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Bottle or other container
  • Funnel

Instructions

      Pour water into saucepan and stir in herbs. Place on stove over high heat and bring to a rolling boil. Reduce heat and allow to simmer for about 30 minutes.

      Remove from heat and strain water into medium-sized mixing bowl using strainer or colander. Discard or set aside herbs.

      Allow the water to cool completely. Add the essential oils to the water and stir well to thoroughly blend. Pour in the shampoo or liquid soap and stir gently. The water, oil and soap should be well combined, but you do not want to create much lather so take care.

      Pour the mixture into a bottle or other container using the funnel. Allow to stand for about an hour, or until all bubbles and froth have disappeared.
