Instructions

Do a Google search for the Pcsx2. This is a PS2 emulator that will ensure the playing of Playstation 2 games on your pc. There are many emulators out there, but the Pcsx2 is the one that I’ve found to be more compatible and able to play more games.

Find the latest version of the software and download it. The company website is good at letting you know which one is the latest version or if there are other versions under development. Also, make sure you are downloading the installation file.

    • 3

Install the emulator. Pay attention to the folder that the application is getting installed into. You many need this information some time in the future.

    • 4

Now, you need to find bios. Bios doesn't come with the installation file. It would be more convenient if they did, but they do not. It isn't legal for the emulator companies to distribute the bios because they are copy-righted by Sony. The only legal way to obtain bios is to get them from your own Playstation 2, but the task is complicated. Besides if you had a Playstation 2, there wouldn't be any need to play the games on your PC.

Search for bios from a Torrent site. This is the best place to find them; you can use any of the torrents sites and search for PS2 bios. If you downloaded and installed the US version of Pcsx2, then you will need USA bios for the Playstation 2. Choose the appropriate file extension based on the capabilities of your computer; either the .bin or the .rar file types. Also, to be sure that you won't be downloading for days, check the other specifications of the files to determine how fast, or slow, it will download.

    • 6

Download the bios. Save them to the ‘Bios’ folder in the directory where you installed the Pcsx2. For instance, C:/Program Files/Pcsx2/Bios would be the place where I would save my bios.

    • 7

Pop in your PS2 game into your DVD-rom. Open the games with your new emulator and play until your heart is content.

Tips & Warnings

  • It may be more beneficial to shell out the $75-$100 to buy a Playstation 2.

  • No emulator is guaranteed to play all PS2 games.

  • It isn't legal to download bios from a torrents site.
