Step1
Sit the family down and get everyone's ideas. Have them make a list of the types of fitness activities they want to do. Make sure that everybody knows that participation is necessary in order to make this work. Also, let them know that everyone will get their own activities factored into the list.
Step2
Create a schedule of the days and times each activity will take place. You can decide how often you want to do these activities and how long they will last. Don't forget to factor in your children's ages and the other activities they are involved in. Post the calendar of events on the fridge for everyone to see.
Step3
Start out small. Go for a walk or bike ride around the neighborhood. It can be fun to see the sights with one another.

Go hiking. There are several different hiking trails. Hiking is a great way to get fresh air and be closer with nature.
Step5
Go to the park. This is a great place for kids to run around and interact with other children. There are several different sporting activities and equipment available at parks. If you have a dog, you can take the dog with you.

Go to the beach or a pool. Swimming is a great way for the family to get exercise. There are so many benefits of swimming and you it is a good way to stay cool during a hot day.
Step7
Learn a new activity. If you or your children want to learn something new, this is a great way for you to do it. Think about it. If you've never rock climbed, this is a good chance to learn. Get ideas from everyone in the family.
Step8
Provide some incentive. People tend to be more motivated when they are competing. If there is something to work toward, your family will be inspired to go that extra mile.
