Microsoft's Passport service allows users to sign into multiple Microsoft-owned websites with a single password and username. From time to time, you may need to change the details of your Passport account, however. It's quite easy, and if you have multiple linked email accounts, you can easily make changes to all of them while still logged in to a single Passport account.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Visit the Microsoft Live account website and sign in using the Passport account you want to change. If you're signed in to a different Passport account than the one you want to edit, click on "Sign In With a Different Account" to sign out of the one you're currently logged in under. If you have problems with your password, click on "Forgot Your Password?" in order to recover it.

  2. Step 2

When you sign in, you will see an overview of your account. It will show you any accounts you might have linked to your current one, a summary of your account information, and several options for editing your account. If you wish to change your password or the password-recovery question, or to change or add an alternate email address, you can also do that directly from the overview page.

  3. Step 3

In order to change your personal information, click the "Registered Information" link underneath the account summary. This will take you to a page where you can change your name, birth date, and any other personal-profile data.

  4. Step 4

If you want to change the profile pictures on your account, click on the "Profiles" option in the left-hand menu. This will allow you to delete or change profile pictures, as well as access the profile-information editing screen mentioned above.

  5. Step 5

Should you need to edit any information for other Windows Live services you might subscribe to (or if you wish to subscribe to such services), you can select the "Services" option from the menu on the left. This will take you to a page where you can select the services you subscribe to, as well as sign up for new services you might not have been aware of.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure you never give anyone your username or password, to keep others from accessing your Microsoft Passport account.
