How to Use Egyptian Charms

The ancient Egyptians believed in magic and in the supernatural realm. Because of these beliefs, they created a number of charms for various purposes. They created charms to ward off evil, to protect their owners, to aid fertility and to escort the dead on their journey to the afterlife. These charms were so effective that modern Egyptians as well as others, are still using them to promote certain desired situations.

Instructions

    • 1

Wear a Menat or a Nefer as often as possible. Both are wide, beaded collars that ensure love, protection and good luck for the wearer.

    • 2

Wear a necklace of an Egyptian Ankh. This popular hieroglyphic symbol, which resembles a cross with an open, looped top, is believed to bring you a long life and robust, good health. You can also find this common symbol on bracelets and on rings. For best results, wear these pieces of jewelry as often as possible.

    • 3

Hang an Egyptian Ankh on the wall or use it as a paperweight on your desk. The presence of this symbol in your vicinity will guard your health against infection and will assure you a spry, long life.

    • 4

Wear a piece of jewelry with Horus, the falcon god, on it. Horus will protect you from any type of turbulence. Like the Egyptian Ankh, Horus can be found on many different types of jewelry.

    • 5

Wear a dangling bracelet of the cobra around your wrist, or wear it coiled around your upper arm. A cobra is a very popular charm that will protect you from your enemies. Remember, your enemies don’t have to be someone you know or think of as an enemy. Rather, your enemy can be a bill collector, a genetic predisposition to a certain disease or a feisty dog down the street. Whatever could be a danger to you, the cobra will protect you from it.

    • 6

Wear several different jewelry pieces of different Egyptian charms at the same time. The combined force of Egyptian charms will form a protective power in all aspects of your life.

    • 7

Buy a large quartz crystal. Although not a well-known Egyptian charm, ancient Egyptians used quartz figurines as focal points for their prayers. You can either hold it in your closed hand as you pray for help in any situation, or you can buy a quartz figurine of a mythical god and set in on your alter as your pray.

Tips & Warnings

  • Never rely on Egyptian charms alone to protect you from danger or illnesses. Always use these charms in addition to, never in place of taking proper safety and medical precautions.
