Things You'll Need:
- Internet connection and computer
- Disk drive for CDs that writes CDs
- iTunes account on your computer
- Optional: Windows Media player installed on your computer
- Blank music CDs
-
Step 1
Obtain a computer with an internet connection and download iTunes. The computer also has to have a drive that writes CDs, called a CDR drive. The easiest way to get karaoke music to burn onto a CD is from iTunes. Keep in mind that this option will only give you the song, not the lyrics.
-
Step 2
Set up an iTunes account so that you can download music. This should only take you a few minutes. You have to put in your credit card information so that you will be able to purchase tunes to download to your iTunes account.
-
Step 3
Purchase the karaoke songs you want from iTunes, and they will be downloaded onto your computer. The easiest way to find the karaoke version of a song is to search iTunes for the song, and scroll through to see if the karaoke version of it pops up. Otherwise, you can search iTunes for karaoke songs in general, and scroll through the different songs available.
-
Step 4
Purchase some blank music CDs. These will allow you to be able to download the music from the iTunes account onto the music CDR.
-
Step 5
Go to the iTunes account and select the music you wish to burn onto a CD. Select the option for file in the left hand corner. This pulls down a menu where you can choose 'burn CD.' Choose this option, once you have loaded a CD into the CD drive. iTunes will then burn the CD.
-
Step 6
Install software that allows you to burn the song and the lyrics. If you want to burn the karaoke song and have the ability for the lyrics to come up on the screen, you'll need to purchase software. (You can do this on the site listed in the resources).
-
Step 7
Once you download the software, you will need to have a drive that allows you to burn CD + Gs or DVDs. You can actually purchase an internal or external drive if your computer doesn't come with one.
-
Step 8
With the additional software, you will be able to burn karaoke CDs that display lyrics on any standard karaoke system. The software has step by step instructions to walk you through the process.
-
Step 9
Install Windows Media Player on your computer. This step is an alternative to iTunes. If you don't wish to set up iTunes on your computer, you can import songs from a karaoke CD onto your computer with the karaoke burning software, and then use the software and Windows Media Player to then burn your karaoke CD with lyrics. You will then need the drive ability to read CD+G CDs and to write them. Check to make sure.
