A nose wheelie or nose press is a relatively easy trick to master. It involves riding the nose of your board as you cruise down the mountain. So, find a relatively easy section of slope to practice on. Here's how to do a nose wheelie on a snowboard.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Snowboard
  1. Step 1

Gain some speed on a flat section of slope.

  2. Step 2

Manual the board so you are now going down the hill goofy or "backward."

  3. Step 3

Flatten your board so you are riding on just the deck, not the edges.

  4. Step 4

Lean your body backward, reaching toward your nose with your arms.

  5. Step 5

Pick up what is now your downhill foot (usually your backside foot) by bending your knee and pulling the board up.

  6. Step 6

Keep your balance with your arms as you ride the nose of the board. Rely on the flex of your board to keep you stable and in the crouch position. Use your arms for balance and to keep from falling back into the slope.

Tips & Warnings
  • Start out by simply rocking back and forth on your board until you can get the board to bend and flex and stay there. Use your body weight to bend the board and keep your weight centered.
  • Do not over-bend your board. It doesn't take a lot to flex the snowboard into a curve.
  • Never attempt a nose wheelie on your edge, because the board will cut into the snow and turn.
