New Jersey has a lot to offer for tourists that want to experience the beautiful state as well as New York City. When it comes to picking a hotel room, you want to make sure that you choose the right one that fits your budget and accommodates your needs. If you are planning a trip to New Jersey, here are some tips for choosing a hotel room.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

If you are planning on visiting New York City while you are staying in New Jersey, stay in Secaucus or Lyndhurst in New Jersey. There are many hotels in both of these towns that are priced for every budget. The hotels are a bus ride or a train ride away from New York City. Depending on the time of day and the day that you travel (along with the potential for travel delays), you can get to New York City in a minimum of 20 minutes. Secaucus and Lyndhurst are also close to Newark Airport. Since there is plenty of bus and train access, you are able to go almost anywhere you want in New Jersey without having to drive.

  2. Step 2

If you are looking to stay in a gorgeous, historical area, then staying in Cape May is a must. The area is beautiful and is filled with Victorian homes, quaint restaurants, antique stores and other little shops. The shoreline is exquisite, and you can also go whale and dolphin watching while you are there. It’s a great area that will keep you entertained, but offers enough quiet to get you away from everyday life.

  3. Step 3

For those that want to gamble, Atlantic City is the place to be. The area is bustling whether it is day or night. You can stay at the casino hotels; however, there are also a few Holiday Inns in the area if you are on a budget. Atlantic City also has a huge amount of outlet stores, great dining and even several golf courses. If you want a place that will keep you busy and out of the hotel room most of the time, Atlantic City is for you.

  4. Step 4

If you are looking for a great place to stay that has the ocean close by, Point Pleasant is a beautiful location. Not only do they have fabulous dining and great places to go to at night, but the ocean is minutes away.

Tips & Warnings
  • When staying at a hotel, make sure you check the distance from the hotel to a train station. Trains go almost everywhere in New Jersey, and it’s a great way to get around if you aren’t that interested in having to drive.
