      Before you interview your subject ask them if they are willing to be interviewed and have your article idea approved by a publisher.You can get an article idea approved by writing a query letter to the editor of the magazine you want to write for.       Prepare for you interview once your article idea has been approved. Do some background research on your subject. If he has a website or blog, you can learn a great deal about him by checking it out. Deciding on the title of the article before the interview will help you decide which types of questions to ask. Brainstorm and compile a list of possible questions and make sure to leave some open ended so you can give your interviewee a chance to elaborate. Doing this may end up providing you with additional information you may not have gotten otherwise.
