Knee highs are a common alternative to wearing pantyhose with full length pants. Knee highs can be reused if you take care of them properly. Knee highs can not be washed in your washing machine with your regular laundry. They should be hand washed.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Liquid hand soap
  1. Step 1

Place the knee highs into the sink.

  2. Step 2

Pump two or three pumps of liquid hand soap on top of the knee highs. Run the sink full of warm water.

  3. Step 3

Place your hands into the warm soapy water and move it around. This will move the warm soapy water through the material to help clean it.

  4. Step 4

Pick up each knee high. Rub the bottom of the foot of it between your fingers to work out the set in stains that occur from standing in them. You will wan to add one squirt of liquid hand soap to any deep set in stains. Repeat this process for any other stains that may occur on the fabric.

  5. Step 5

Repeat this process with all of your dirty knee highs until they are clean. Drain the sink.

  6. Step 6

Run fresh warm water onto the knee highs. Rub the knee highs between your fingers to remove all of the soap out of them. Hang them up to dry.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can use this same process with your pantyhose.
  • If you prefer you can use laundry soap instead of the liquid hand soap.
  • Use warm water instead of really hot water to hand wash. This will keep the fabric from shrinking.
  • Air dry the knee highs either on a clothes line or on a hanger in the shower for them to drip dry.
