1
Fill a clean sink or basin with hot water. If your faucet does not run hot enough, boil water on the stove and pour into the sink or basin. Add herbal tea bags, like chamomile and peppermint to the water. Steep for 10 minutes.

2
Take a large, clean towel and drape over your head. Allow the towel to trap the steam rising from the hot water and go directly into your sinuses and lungs.

3
Breathe in slowly for four counts, then out slowly for eight counts. Do this slowly ten times. Stop and sit down if you begin to feel dizzy or faint.

4
Place the towel on top of the sink or basin to retain the heat of the water. Take a reccomended dose of cough syrup and suck on an herbal cough drop. After the cough drop has dissolved, place the towel over your head.
