Create a Pregnant Cat Costume for Pregnant Women

Costumes can be difficult for pregnant women to pull off. It becomes easier, however, when you create a costume representing a character that is also pregnant. If you like cats, you will love this procedure for creating a pregnant cat-costume.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Headband
  • Pipe cleaner
  • Bottle nipples
  • Hot glue
  • Basic black or animal-print outfit
  1. Step 1

Begin with an outfit that shows off your pregnancy. You can wear something with a tiger print, or perhaps something fuzzy or something black. Just choose something you are comfortable in, yet that somehow manages to be a bit striking. The top or shirt you wear should be disposable, as you will alter it to complete the costume.

  2. Step 2

Make a tail for your cat costume. You can purchase a small scrap of animal print or fuzzy fabrics and sew it into a skinny tube. Turn that tube inside out and sew one end shut. Stuff if with batting and insert a wire from a hanger to form it into a curved shape. Attach the tail to your waistband or belt.

  3. Step 3

Make cat ears with a headband and pipe cleaners. Wrap the pipe cleaners around the headband. Then bend two pipe cleaners to make them pointed like cat ears and attach that to the headband as well. Secure it in place with hot glue if necessary.

  4. Step 4

Use theatrical makeup to transform your face into a cat's face. Draw on black whiskers and a line from your nose to your mouth, and exaggerate your eyes to make them more catike.

  5. Step 5

Purchase a pack of baby-bottle nipples. Glue two rows of nipples to the stomach of your costume to resemble that of a nursing cat. This is the fun part of the costume that will entertain your friends and make everyone laugh.
