Sending a little piece of Hawaii is a fun way to invite your friends to a luau. Who wouldn’t want to receive a little dancing hula girl or Hawaiian lei in lieu of a traditional two-dimensional card? Read on to learn how to create luau invitation cards.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Vibrant cardstock
  • Printer
  • Dashboard hula girls or leis
  • Small boxes
  • Flower stickers
Step1
Buy dashboard hula girls to enclose with each invite. The kitschy, swaying dolls could be found on line for about $5 and up. If this is a bit out of your budget, you could buy leis instead to include with each invitation. Plastic versions of this traditional flowery necklace are available on line in bulk.
Step2
Find cardstock as vibrant as a Hawaiian landscape. Instead of envelopes buy boxes to fit each card and hula girl.
Step3
Print your invite on each card. Don’t forget to include standard things like date, place, time and R.S.V.P. information.
Step4
Place a dashboard hula girl or a lei inside of each box. Put your colorful invitations on top of the item.
Step5
Add a tropical flower sticker to jazz up the outside of the box and you’re ready to mail.
