  1. How to Solve Word Puzzles

    • 1

Look at the list of words that you must find. It helps to review them first so you'll have an idea of what you're looking for. Some people choose to find the words in the order they are on the list, others just find words at random in the puzzle, and still others pick a random word to find from the list. Whatever works best for you will probably make solving a word search the easiest.

    • 2

Look down at the scrambled letters of the word search. Try to find the first letter of the word you're looking for. If you're not looking for any word in particular, then just start looking at the lines of letters and see if any words jump out at you. Some people have better luck scanning a puzzle for words instead of looking for a certain one.

    • 3

Continue searching for the entire word. They usually can go left, right, up, down, or diagonal. If you get stuck you may just want to skip that word and come back. Sometimes after you go to the next word you'll see the one you were looking for in the first place.

    • 4

Circle the word in the puzzle and cross it off your list so you know you've already found it.. Then proceed to the next word. Keep looking until all the words in the puzzle have been found. Find them all and you're done!
