Make Game Boards in Bots n' Scouts
Step1
Open the Bots n’ Scouts game by double-clicking the start.bat file. On the opening splash screen, click "Tile Editor."
Step2
Click the tile you want from the selection on the right side of the screen, then click a space on the blank board to add the tile. If you make a mistake, use a blank tile to clear a space on the board, or simply choose the tile you want instead and click on the existing tile.
Step3
Use the belt pieces with orange borders and solid arrows to add regular conveyor belts (that move the robot one square) to the board. Use the curved arrow pieces to add belts that rotate or connect with each other.
Step4
Use the belt pieces with blue borders and hollow arrows to add express conveyor belts (that move the robot two squares) to the board.
Step5
Add optional crushers to belts by clicking the round tile with the blue circles, then clicking on top of a belt square on the board. In the pop-up menu, choose the phases you want the crusher to be active on, then click the empty gray space at the bottom of the pop-up menu.
Step6
Use the round tiles with arrows to add gears that rotate the robots. Use the solid yellow lines to add walls.
Step7
Use the yellow and black striped lines to add pushers to the board. (The pusher automatically comes attached to a wall.) In the pop-up menu, select the phases you want the pusher to be active on, then click the empty gray space at the bottom of the pop-up.
Step8
Add optional lasers by clicking the small red and blue triangles. (The laser automatically comes attached to a wall.) In the pop-up menu, select how many points of damage the laser will do, then click the empty gray space at the bottom of the pop-up.
Step9
Add single or double wrench spaces to the board for repair sites. Ending the turn on one wrench repairs 1 point of damage, and a double wrench repairs 2 points. (There are no option cards in Bots n’ Scouts.)
Step10
Use the square tile with the warning tape around it to add pits to the board. The robot will lose a life if it falls into a pit (and start over at the flag or wrench it most recently touched, if it still has lives left).
Step11
Click the Save menu to save the board. In the pop-up window, type a name for the board and choose the tiles folder in the game directory. Click Save.
