How to Use the Itsdeductible Website
Do you need a way to track your charitable deductions? Maybe you have a number of home goods, money, mileage for volunteer work or stocks that you will donate to a local charity, thrift store or shelter. You can enter 2 years' worth of data for free and store it securely on the ItsDeductible website. This website will help you determine the value of your donations and track them throughout the year so you have accurate information for tax preparation.
Instructions

1
Click the ItsDeductible link (see Resources below). This will take you to the TurboTax website, which sponsors ItsDeductible.
-
2
Click the blue "Start Now--It's Free" button in the middle of your screen. Fill in the fields as warranted, paying special attention to the email address field, since you will need this in the future. Store your login name and password in a secure location, and choose information you can easily recall for these.
-
-
3
Click the blue "Create Account" button when you are finished filling in the fields. It would be wise to choose your email address as your user name so you can remember it better, although doing this could make your account less secure.
-
4
Click "Login" to enter your ItsDeductible account using your user name and password. This is how you will enter your account from now on. If you already have an account and information is entered, click the blue "Edit" button on the right side.
-
5
Gather clothing and items you wish to donate and enter the information into the fields on your screen. Be as descriptive as possible with dates, amounts, quantities and conditions. You can tab between the columns or use your mouse to click where you want to be.
-
6
Click "Mileage," "Money," "Items" or "Stock," depending on the nature of what you are donating. There are times when some or all of these items are a tax deduction. You will have an online record of cash donations, mileage driven for volunteer work and all of the household items you have given to charitable causes.
-
7
Type a question in the box on the far right of your screen if you have questions. Chances are someone else had the same idea and has already asked the question.
