Contact online brokers. There are many brokers with very informative websites, some of which are listed in the Resources section below. You can also call them toll free: (800) 387-233 (Etrade), (800) 869-8800 (Firstrade), (800) 454-9272 (Tdameritrade) and (800) 619-7283 (Scottrade).

Do your research. No matter which international online broker you choose, you'll want to scour their websites to see which countries they grant access to and what limitations and fees are involved. Also, are they the markets you're interested in? Contact them by phone if their websites are not clear on the international markets they offer and how it actually works when you want to execute a trade.

  3. Step 3

After you find, then fund. Once you have compared the various brokers for what they offer internationally and at what rates, you can settle on the one that's right for you. Now comes the exciting part. It's time to fund your account. Make sure you state that you want to trade internationally before you do. Some brokers have special accounts to apply for in order to trade in foreign markets. You want to make sure that's the one you're getting. Happy trading!
