How to Find Jobs With Major League Baseball

For sports fans, getting a job working for the Major League Baseball organization can be just as much fun as playing on the team. There are several jobs behind the scenes that are crucial to the success of the sport. Read on to learn how to find jobs with Major League Baseball.

1. Go to the source. Keep a close eye on the MLB website. Located at the bottom of the web page is a section titled "Job Opportunities." Keep in mind that working for the MLB organization will require you to live in New York City for most positions.
2. Apply for summer internship. If you are in college, apply for a summer intern position. Contact the Human Resources Department of the MLB to learn of the intern opportunities as well as any requirements needed. The individual teams have summer intern programs too. Teams like the Atlanta Braves, for example, pride themselves on their summer intern programs.
3. Contact the teams. Most MLB team websites do not list the job opportunities online. To view the job openings, you must create an account with the organization. After doing so, viewing job openings and descriptions will be made available to you at any time. Also, you may contact the Human Resource Department of your favorite team to learn of the procedure of submitting your resume.
4. Visit the Monster website. The MLB and all individual teams post their job opportunities on Monster. When viewing the Monster homepage, simply type in "Major League Baseball" into the search box, along with the occupation field you are interested in and you will be presented with a list of job openings.
