Getting ahead in life depends greatly on your ability to relate well to other people. This is especially true if you are in school. In some respects, an administrator can make or break a person's ability to get into a good college, so be sure to treat them well. They often give good references or letters of recommendation to students they feel are deserving. If you want to wrap your vice principal around your little finger, keep some things in mind.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

How to Wrap Your Vice Principal Around Your Little Finger.

Step1
Learn his or her name and use it as often as you can. When you first meet your vice prinicipal, it might be a good idea to introduce yourself and shake hands, of course. Make a formal appointment to get some time alone.
Step2
Set the pace for the relationship and avoid getting into trouble with your friends. If you hang out with people who are constantly getting into trouble, a vice principal will not appreciate the fact you "didn't do anything." Learn about "guilt by association." Also know a good administrator will talk to your teachers, mentors and coaches when you are not around, so be sure to keep things on good terms with them, too.
Step3
Develop a good reputation and dress the part. As unfair as it may seem, a vice principal will formulate an opinion of your by the way you look. Use common sense, dress well, and keep yourself well groomed.
Step4
Appeal to his or her sense of vanity. Discover something personal about your vice principal and make it known that you did so. If they play the guitar in a band on the weekend, be sure to familiarize yourself with how to read music, for example. Find some commonality or like interests and go from there.
Step5
Speak well of your vice principal when they are not around. If you want to wrap your vice principal around your little finger, word of mouth will be a great tool to help. Students often hear "things" about school administrators, so the reverse can be true, as well. Be sure to be genuine and not too contrived when you talk to others about your vice principal.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be sure to either volunteer or participate in student government.
  • Do not be too trendy or controversial and try to keep your "rebel" self in check.
