How to Set Up Aluminum Swimming Pool Fencing

  1. Step 1

Measure the distance around your pool where you will want to be installing a fence. Make sure there is at least three feet from the edge of the pool to your fence to ensure that people will have enough room to freely move once they are inside the fence.

  2. Step 2

Choose an aluminum fence style that you like and see how long the sections are. Calculate this by the overall distance you need to cover to surround your pool. Purchase enough fencing to completely surround your pool.

  3. Step 3

Dig a small, deep hole for each of the posts needed to support the structure. Depending on how sturdy you wish your fencing to be you can either fill the hole back in with the dirt you dug out, or fill the hole with concrete. Concrete is a very permanent substance, so be sure this is what you want.

  4. Step 4

Attach the fencing to the posts and to one another. Make sure you compensate for any trees or hills that may make it difficult to attach the fencing. There are several ways to work around these obstacles. Consult your fence salesperson for the best method with the fencing your have chosen.

  5. Step 5

Install a gate. Traditionally, the gate is the furthest point away from the pool. This is a safety precaution in case a child somehow opens the gate, it will give you the most amount of time to see this and stop them.
