Creating a car club would require the organizer to have a car that will meet the requirements of the car club. It may be a Corvette, Camaro or another hot car. Car clubs sponsor events such as car shows, trips and tours that owners can participate in with their cars. The clubs do many things during the nicer months of the year and regularly get together during colder months to plan future events. This is a great way to meet car owners with similar interests. Read on to learn how to create a car club.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Place to meet
  • Calendar of events
  • Members
Step1
Create a name for the car club. This might be something like "Wisconsin Corvette Travelers" or "Florida Camaro Car Club." Try to pick a name that does not already exist to be unique. This will be how people find the car club from others. Make letterhead stationery with the name on it to send out to people around the area.
Step2
Set up advertisement in newspapers and magazines announcing the start of the car club. This works for finding people who want to join a car club and participate in special events and travels. Run ads for at least a month or more. Post ads at car swap meets and with local car dealers and detailers.
Step3
Organize a meeting of all new members. Pick a meeting place that will be acceptable to all members. You might choose a hall in a VFW Club or something similar. This way those that want to have a drink can and those that do not drink can have coffee, which you should set up.
Step4
Present the first few events that will interest new members. A first time group activity might be a tour. This can be a tour consisting of so many miles to interesting parts of the area. Get feedback from members as to what they would like to do. This helps the planning process.
Step5
Schedule monthly or bi-monthly meetings and ask people to help with the events. This may include choosing a president of the club, treasurer and a minute-taker. This process can be done randomly or by voting. All people should be in contact monthly while planning events.
Step6
Keep members updated with a newsletter monthly. This can include upcoming events and other information about the cars themselves.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the gas prices are still high, you may have to plan non-driving car club events.
  • Make the car club fun, plan interesting things to do.
  • Be prepared to have many members in some areas that do not have a car club.
