How to Set Up a 11x17 Document in Publisher

Microsoft Office Publisher is a software program that can be used as a tool to design brochures, fliers, newsletters, and business cards; create word processing documents, marketing tools and websites; and publish sites to the web. Publisher has many templates and wizards that help users through the process of creating documents and tailoring those documents to their specific needs. Here's how to configure those documents to 11x17.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

1. Open Publisher by double clicking on the Publisher icon.
2. Go to the File pull-down menu and click once on New.
3. Go to the File pull-down menu and click once on Page Setup. You will see two tabs: the Layout tab and the Printer and Paper tab.
4. Click on the Layout tab.
5. Under Publication Type, click on Custom.
6. Under Page Size, find the rectangle to the right side of Width and write in "17."
7. Directly underneath Width, find the rectangle to the right side of Height and write in "11."
8. Under Orientation, click inside the little circle on the left side, in front of Portrait.
9. Under Printing Options, click on Change Overlap. A window will pop up titled Poster and Banner Print Options.
10. Under Options and on the left side, click inside the little circle in front of Print Entire Page.
11. Set the Overlap Sheets to zero by clicking on the "down" arrow until you reach zero. The arrows are located on the right side of the rectangle that is to the right of Overlap Sheets.
12. Click OK at the bottom of the Poster and Banner Print Options window.
13. Click OK at the bottom of the Page Setup window.
