How to Embed Fonts in a Publisher Document

Microsoft Office Publisher is a software that can be used as a tool to design brochures, leaflets, newsletters, and business cards; create word processing documents, marketing tools and websites; and publish websites to the web. Publisher has many templates and wizards that help users through the process of creating documents and tailoring documents to the needs of the user.

  1. How to Embed Fonts into a Publisher Document

      Open Publisher by double clicking on the Publisher Icon.

      Go to the File pull-down menu and click once on new.

      Go to the File pull-down menu and put the cursor over Pack and Go. You will see two options: Take to Another Computer, Take to a Commercial Printing Service. You can choose either option to link graphics in a publisher document. Your choice will depend on what you want to do with your document. The Commercial Printing Service option will allow you to include linked graphics, embed true-type fonts, create linked graphics from embedded fonts, list fonts that cannot be embedded as well as report any dilemmas with linked graphics. This option will also give you the chance to split large publications across multiple disks and/or print a composite or separate a proofs. The Take to Another Computer option does not allow you to do as much as the Take to a Commercial Printing Service option. The Take to Another Computer option allows you to include linked graphics, embed true-type fonts, create linked graphics from embedded fonts as well as split large publications across multiple disks.

      Choose one of the two options by clicking once on your choice. This will take you to the Pack and Go Wizard regardless of which option you choose. Click once on Next.

      Click on Browse to find the place you want to save your file to on your computer.

      Click OK when you have found where you want to save your file on your computer. Click Next.

      Check embed true-type fonts by clicking inside the box in front of embed true-type fonts. Click Next.

      Click finish. The wizard will do the rest.
