Wash and disinfect your baby items. Regardless of how you are getting rid of them, you'll want to be sure they are clean before handing them off. No one wants a high chair that has caked spit up on it.

2
Separate your items into three piles. Things that are in great condition, things that are in usable condition and things that are on their last legs. Knowing what items you have and the quality of the items that you have can help you decide how to get rid of them.

Many busy folks who just want to get rid of their items quickly leave them out front of their driveways for anyone to pick up. Some people also bring them to a swap pile at the local dump where people can pick from. Other parents who aren't quite sure of how to sell their equipment loan their baby items out to friends or family that could use them. With all these options, throwing away baby items should only be considered as a last resort.
