How to Make Chair Cover
Giving your living room furniture a new look may not require that you buy all new furniture. It may be as simple as creating a chair cover to add a stylish and fresh new look to your living room. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Fabric (large enough to cover your chair)
- Scissors
- Safety pins
- Straight pins
- Sewing machine
- Thread
- Measuring tape
- Staple gun (optional)

Lay your piece of fabric out flat on the floor, a work table or another flat surface. Make sure that the fabric is smooth and flat.

Cover the seat cushion. Place the seat cushion on the fabric and wrap the fabric around the cushion. You can safety pin the fabric to the bottom of the cushion. Make sure the fabric is pulled tight across the top of the cushion.

Cover the chair frame, using the rest of the material. Start by pinning the fabric to the seat, under where the cushion sits. Pull the material tight over the seat, up the back of the chair and down the back of the chair. Tuck the material and pin it as necessary so it remains smooth and flat. Wrap the fabric up under the chair and use a staple gun to apply the fabric to the bottom.

Cover the front of chair. To cover the bottom piece on the front of the chair, drape the material under where the cushion sits and run it under the bottom of the chair, pulling the material tight. Use your safety pins to secure the material under the cushion and the staple gun to adhere it to the bottom of the chair.

Push the covered cushion back into the seat of the chair.
