LSP-Fix is a program used do remove-and-repair problems with software called Layered Service Providers, or LSPs. LSPs are intended to connect directly into the protocol being used to connect to the Internet. They are installed so that each LSP is chained together. The chain would be broken if any one of the LSP program files is removed incorrectly or deleted. If this happens, it prevents you from connecting to the Internet. LSP-Fix is designed to correct such problems associated with Layered Service Providers. LSP-Fix can remove malicious LSPs, fix breaks in the chain of existing LSPs and will ultimately fix problems with your network connection. Most of the applications that use LSPs use an Internet or network connection. Unfortunately, some LSP applications are harmful to your computer because they use LSPs to redirect you to sites that collect your information. Many spyware programs use LSPs to perform their malicious tasks, sneaking into your computer system via file-sharing utilities or other free downloads. LSP-Fix will delete Layered Service Providers that are used by these malicious spyware applications. Here's how to use LSP-Fix to remove spyware.
Download LSP-Fix (See Resources below for the download link). After you have downloaded the file, navigate to its location and double-click its icon to launch it.
Check the box labeled "I know what I'm doing." It is essential to keep in mind that there are some legitimate programs that use LSPs, such as Sygate Firewall, McAfee Personal Firewall and E-Safe. Deleting the wrong LSPs will result in critical errors that will prevent you from ever connecting to the Internet.
Note the two sections in the dialog box: KEEP and REMOVE. The Keep section is the list of files that will be retained. The Remove section will be where you'll be putting files you wish to delete.
