The Philippines is a beautiful country with a history filled with upheaval. Eventually occupied by the United States, the Philippines finally gained it's own independence in the late 1980s. A land of legends, folklore and superstitions, the connections to World War II has filled it with the restless energies that ghost hunters love.       Start in Iloilo at the Central Philippine University. Students report seeing the apparitions of missionaries here who were killed by the Japanese during World War II. The missionaries started the school and their dedication to the students lives on. While there, check out Valentine Hall as well. Here, students report seeing the ghost of a female student, as well as the ghost of Reverend Valentine who is rumored to have been beheaded.

      Japanese garden in Rizal Park

      Head out to Manila and Rizal Park area. The spirits of Japanese soldiers are said to reside here on the site of their death during an explosion in the war. Visitors here report cold spots, and an overall feeling of menace when walking throughout the park. Try some EVP work here and speak in Japanese to get better results.

      Muntilupa

      Stop in San Jose Village in Muntilupa for a number of supernatural experiences. St. Peter's Street hosts some otherworldly parties for spirits near the cave entrance and visitors hear them late in the evening between midnight and 3:00 a.m. St. Clemence Street is home to an angry woman in white, and St. Bernadette Street tricycle drivers find themselves taking a white apparition on a free ride around town. Talk to the locals for personal stories and other spooky tales.

      Inside the Diplomat Hotel

      Finally, visit the Diplomat Hotel in Baguio City. This 1900's seminary fell victim to the evils of war and many priests and nuns were killed by Japanese troops. Guests here reported hearing otherworldly wailing and some have even seen apparitions of the fallen souls. Locals are well aware of the ghostly activity here and tourists will notice crosses painted on the doors to the homes nearby. Ghost hunting tours are available but only until 6:00 p.m. Bring your camera.
