1. Quit the medical practice you are working for. Many practices will not allow you to see private patients while employed at another medical office.

2. Contact your local city and state government offices to enroll your business for a business license.

3. Get a private office. You may be seeing most of your clients in their private homes, but some may prefer to see you in an office.

4. Get business cards and hand out at various charity events, social gatherings and clubs. Networking in areas that have many high income clients will help you grow your business.

5. Have a press release sent to the local media including the local newspapers. Most newspapers list new business openings. You can also pitch a story about your private practice to the media to see if they will write a personal interest story on you.

6. Advertise in upscale magazines and newspaper sections. Most clients you will obtain are with high income levels who don't want to wait in long lines and they want to receive more private care.
