Step 1
Take the subway or bus to Chinatown in New York City. This area is one of the most southern part of the island of Manhattan and is replete with Asian grocers. Canal Street is the major street that has most of the markets. There are side streets like Bowery and Mott Streets that have ethnic grocers tucked away.

Step 2
Walk up and down Canal Street in lower Manhattan and visit each shop. They will specialize in various cuisines. You will find Indonesian, Japanese, Chinese and Korean grocers stocked with seafood, canned goods, noodles and kitchen accessories to stock your ethnic kitchen with.

Step 3
Walk north from Chinatown up to Little Italy. In little Itlay, you will find Italian pastry shops, butchers with fresh sausages, grocers with pastas and sauces. The major streets you will find these grocers are Mott, Mulberry and Elizabeth.

Take public transportation to midtown. On 32nd Street, you'll find Han Ah Reum, a supermarket chain featuring Korean products. You will be pleased to find numerous Korean products imported directly from Korea to stock your ethnic kitchen.
