If you have ever been in a sticky situation, you know what it's like to want to get out of there ASAP. Maybe you're trying to avoid someone or skip out on a bad date. With these steps on how to create a diversion, you'll be out of there in no time.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

First, you need to be in a situation that requires an exit. Maybe you're at a cocktail part and spot someone you'd like to avoid and need a quick getaway. Maybe you want to ditch the date. Whatever the reason, creating a diversion will give you just enough time to slip out of the situation.

  2. Step 2

Make sure you are positioned near a door so you can make a clean escape.

  3. Step 3

Your friend should be across the room screaming something along the lines of "Oh my god" or "Look!" Everyone will look in their direction giving you just enough time to exit since you are already positioned near the door.

  4. Step 4

Your friend should now figure out something to say since everyone is looking at them. Even something as simple as "Never mind, I thought I saw something."

  5. Step 5

Lastly, make sure a different friend has an excuse set up for you in case people ask where you went or why you left.
