For those of you who like to do crafts, a well stocked craft closet is not only handy, but mandatory. You'll find that the more crafts you work on the more you will have to put in your closet just from what is leftover. As any experienced crafter will tell you, nothing ever need go to waste. Sometimes scraps that you think are useless will be just the thing you need to complete another project. The steps below will help you to stock your own craft closet with all the basics that you and your children need the next time any of you feel that creative spark!

    Stocking A Craft Closet

  1. Step 1

    Get basic tools such as sharp scissors, safety scissors, utility knife, white glue, glue sticks, a glue gun and a mounting spray. Don't forget other things like rulers, tape measures and stencil shapes.

  2. Step 2

    You'll need surface materials such as colored construction paper, colored pieces of felt, yarns, threads, scraps of material and different shapes of Styrofoam.

  3. Step 3

    Stock additional items such as water based paints, pencils, markers, chalks, crayons, pens. knitting needles, crochet hooks, sewing needles, thimbles, seem puller, paint brushes, glitter and stencil kits.

  4. Step 4

    Organize your craft closet with baskets that you can label so that you won't have to search each time you need something.

Tips & Warnings
  • Watch your sales papers for special deals and clearance items that craft stores occasionally have. With crafts, nothing goes to waste and if you see something at a good price buy it for your closet. It will someday come in handy.
  • You can also look through craft magazines and get ideas for other tools or materials you might want to have on hand.
