Website design has never been more in reach for the many people who do not know how to program in HTML. With the advent of website design software, those who have no HTML knowledge whatsoever are able to create professional looking websites using a basic drag-and-drop interface.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Yahoo! Sitebuilder
  • Computer
  • Website to work on

Step1
Open Yahoo! Sitebuilder.
Step2
Open the pages to work on. To open the desired website scroll to the “File” tab on the command bar and select “Open Site.” Browse to the desired website and click “Open.”
Step3
You will need to have multiple objects on the page in order to manipulate the display formatting. For example, if you had a web page that had several objects in it, such as text, an image and a navigation bar, here is how you would manipulate the page display formatting. Select the object that you wish to manipulate by left-clicking on it. Then scroll to the “Arrange” tab on the command bar; a submenu will open. You can manipulate the display formatting in several categories. Select the desired options, which include: bring to front (will place object on front of page), bring forward (will move the object one level forward on the display formatting), send backward (will send the object one place back), and send to back (will send the object all the way to the back).
Step4
Publish updated website. To publish your edited page, scroll to the “Publish” button on the command bar and browse to the desired URL. Click “Publish Site” to publish your website.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can arrange the page display formatting as desired. Just remember that if you move an object beneath another one, it may not show up when the website has been published.
  • Always test your website by using the hotkey “F12” to see what it will like when published, prior to actually publishing the website.
