How to Find Slimming Bathing Suits

Whether you are a size 0 or a size 14, looking good in a bathing suit is important to most women. This season there are some great slimming bathing suits available to suit all body types, which you can find in stores and on-line. Read ahead to find the best slimming bathing suit for you.

1. Go to a store that specializes in swim suits. While certain general clothing stores usually have a pretty good selection of swimwear, in order to find a better selection of styles that offers slimming options you would be wise to head to a swimwear store. Don't be afraid to ask the salesperson for help. Try on different styles.

2. 

   Try a one piece this year. With 1940s and 1950s type designer suits being spotted from St. Barts to Cozumel, one piece suits have become quite popular. Certain designers will include, on the suit, what body type their suit is directed at so be sure to check those out. A good swimwear site is Lands End (www.landsend.com). 3. Try a dark colored bottom and a lighter top if you are choosing a two piece. This draws the eyes up and off your hips.

4. Try something new. Boy shorts are a popular option and slim your legs, also giving you extra coverage. If you still want to opt for a bikini top, but your hips are a problem area, try the boy shorts.

Tips & Warnings

• Don't be afraid to ask for help from the salesperson or a trusted friend. Those slimming mirrors aren't what will be seen on the beach and the salespeople are there to help (they don't have to see you in your suit but they can select items for you).

• Swimsuit sizes tend to run small, depending on the brand. It's better to get a large instead of a medium if that means better coverage.

• Be sure to look at the care label on your suit. Taking care of your suit correctly will prevent it from getting stretched out. Some slimming suits have special "miracle" type fabrics. When in doubt, hand wash and air dry your suit or toss your suit into a a gentle knit fabric bag for use in the washing machine and put the washer on gentle cycle.
