Instructions

    • 1

Deal five cards to each player. Once each player has received all five cards, allow them to look at their own hand.

    • 2

Explain how wild cards work in Kings and Little Ones Poker. The four kings in the game are all wild cards. Each player will also have their own personal wild card. That personal wild card is the lowest card in your hand. If your lowest card in your hand is paired up they are both wild. Aces can be high or low, it is up to the player holding them.

    • 3

Conduct a betting round. Allow the player to the left of the dealer to start the wagering.

    • 4

Instruct each player to discard up to two cards from their hand. Due to the large number of wild cards, players may not discard more than two cards each.

    • 5

Deal the same number of face cards to each player as the number of cards they discarded. After all players have received their cards, they may look at their own cards.

    • 6

Conduct the second wagering round. This wagering round will be started by the player two seats to the left of the dealer.

    • 7

Reveal your cards and declare your hand. Remember, all the kings in your hand are wild and so is the lowest card in your hand. If that lowest card is paired up then you have two wild cards, and possibly more if you have a king in your hand. Make sure you declare your hand correctly, as you can not correct it after you make your declaration. The player with the best poker hand wins the pot.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have a medium pair of cards in your hand after the initial deal and just one card lower than the pair, discard that lower card. This gives you a chance to have your pair be wild if the replacement card is higher than the pair.

  • This is a game where you typically must have at least a full house, and more often it will take four of a kind or a straight flush to win the hand.
