Before intuitive website builder programs came around, many people had to rely upon the high prices and fees of website designers. But as technology has advanced, many companies have created user-friendly versions of website design software that allow just about anybody to create a great looking website, without having any knowledge of how to program one. Yahoo SiteBuilder is one such program.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Open the program. Left-click on the Yahoo SiteBuilder application icon to open the program.
Step2
Create text. Open a page that you are wishing to add text to, or create a new page by left-clicking on the “File” tab on the command bar and scrolling to “New Page”; select a new page without a template. To add text, click on the “T” icon on the command bar. A text box will open; left-click on the text box to add the desired text.
Step3
Format text as desired. Change the font of the text by left-clicking on the font box on the font command bar, located directly below the command bar at the top of the application interface. When you do this a sub-menu will open with about a hundred available fonts to choose from. Scroll to the desired font and left-click to implement.
Step4
Use other formatting options on the font command bar. You can choose to bold the text, italicize, indent, justify, center or add bullets or numbers to your text. All of these options are listed from left-to-right on the command bar and have easy to identify corresponding icons. You can also highlight the text that you wish to format and left-click on the "Format" tab on the command bar; a sub-menu will open with all of the font formatting options that are listed on the font command bar.
Step5
Test the page in your browser for accuracy. Always test for accuracy by using the “F12” hotkey to open it in a new browser window, before publishing your website.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always save a copy of the website before you make changes, so you can go back.
