Website design programs have never been easier to use than they are now. The days of paying lots of money just to get a website built are long since passed. These newer website design programs, such as Yahoo SiteBuilder, allow users with no HTML programming skills to create professional websites in a relatively short amount of time.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Open Yahoo SiteBuilder. You will need to left-click on the application icon to open up the program on your computer.
Step2
Load the website that you wish to add error pages to. To open a website, left-click on the “File” tab on the command bar and scroll to “Open Site.” Select the desired website and click on “Open” to open.
Step3
Create the error pages. To create an error page in Yahoo SiteBuilder, first design the page as desired. Then save the page as either “e404” or “e405” with the .html extension. When you upload these pages, they will show up only when a user encounters an error on your website.
Step4
Publish the website. To publish your added error pages, click on the “Publish” button on the command bar, and publish to the desired URL.

Tips & Warnings

  • Test the page in your browser for accuracy. Test for accuracy by using the “F12” hotkey to open it in a new browser window, before publishing your website.
  • Always save a copy of the website before you make changes, so you can go back.
