Things You'll Need:
- 2 pieces cotton fabric, 10 inches by 15 inches
- 2.5 yards rickrack or cotton trim
- 9 fabric flowers (from notions department)
- polyfill stuffing
- 8 6-inch lengths of yarn, any color
- yarn needle
- sewing machine
- needle and thread

Step 1
Lay one piece of the fabric right-side up on a work table. Cut three pieces of trim or rickrack to fit, as pictured. Pin into place. Hand or machine stitch the trim into place. Remove the pins.

Step 2
Cut three more pieces of trim to fit and pin into place. Hand or machine stitch into place. Remove pins. Hand sew the nine fabric flowers into the intersections of the trim, as pictured.

Step 3
Flip the front of the quilt over and pin it to the right side of other piece of fabric. Hand or machine stitch closed on three sides.

Step 4
Turn the quilt inside out and lightly stuff with polyfill. Hand or machine stitch closed.

Step 5
Use pins to make 8 places in between the squares for quilting. Thread one 6-inch piece of yarn in a yarn needle and knot one end. Push the needle up from the back of the quilt at one of the pins and sew an “X” with the yarn. Tie off the yarn in the back and knot it closed. Remove the pin. Repeat with remaining 7 places.
