Step 1
Familiarize Yourself with DVF clothingFor those who don't know Diane Von Furstenberg, you should be aware that she creates dresses in a variety of wrap styles in both solid and patterned fabrics. Her wraps are her best known products and they are available in a wide variety of colors, styles and fabrics. The best thing about the dress is that it is very flattering to most women.

Step 2
Know How to Shop for Someone ElseIt goes without saying that shopping for someone else is different from shopping for yourself. In order to shop for someone else, you need to know what they want to wear and where they'll be wearing it. A woman looking for a dress for a dinner engagement will need something different from the woman who is looking for a dress for a wedding or for church or for a job interview. As a personal shopper, you will need to choose appropriate clothing for various occasions. As a DVF personal shopper, you will suggest to clients which dresses will suit them best for each occasion.

Step 3
Determine Your RatesFind boutiques or stores in your area that sell DVF clothing and know how much things cost. Determine how long it takes you to find things and take taxes and inflation into consideration. From there, decide how you want to set up your business. Do you want to charge clients by the hour or by the piece? For instance, you can charge someone a flat rate per piece, say $30, in addition to the cost of the piece. You can charge a percentage commission, so a $400 dress will cost them $440, $40 of which will go to you. Or you can charge by the hour. If you shop for four hours for the perfect outfits, you can charge $20 (research fair hourly charges) per hour, which will give you $80 and your client any number of outfits.

Step 4
Market YourselfSet up a website, print off business cards, put your number in the yellow pages and put an ad in the newspaper. Tell your friends and family. This will get you business. Make sure to follow up with all of your possible contacts and let them know what's going on and makes sure they know why they should hire you and not someone else. You might need to sell them on the DVF clothing. You must be very familiar with the products.

Step 5
Build Up Your ClienteleDo this through word of mouth. The more you shop, the more you'll get to know others in the same business as well as sales people. Keep your eye open for sales and make sure the shops know who you are. They might be able to give you a discount if you buy enough from them and they might introduce you to prospective clients.
