How to Become a Tax Return Preparer
To become a tax preparer, you must complete a course that teaches the right way to prepare taxes. The course will teach you about the different type of tax forms and tax from other states. The courses can be taken at vocational schools, online schools or some tax preparer service centers. I have a bookkeeping business and due to new regulations i wish to take a tax preparer class. It would behove h and r and Jackson Hewitt to make classes available to those of us who don't wish to work for them, but wish to complete the courses, even if it will cost us more. There really is no alternative. -

H&R Block's basic tax course is over 80 hours, so the article provided erroneous info. It would take much more than a few hours a week for nine weeks. And, not sure who shawnee50 saw using an adding machine. I have been working for H&R Block for 9 years now. Our office does not use an adding machine. We are a little more tech savvy than the old 10-key adding machines. :) -

H&R Bock does require a non-compete clause, but only if you go to work for the company. It requires that you not work for a competitor for two years after leaving the company to protect client confidentiality. This is not required to take any of their courses. H&R Block courses are in-depth and thorough and I would recommend them to anyone. The cost of the course is easily made up for with the tax savings you will discover. Classes are open to anyone regardless of who you work for. -

Very nice job I was interested until you mentioned math. I hate math. I always see them use adding machine that I can do.
