Instructions

Select the right bowl or container. Make sure the bowl (or large container) is: totally waterproof, level on the bottom, high enough to cover the pump completely with water, wide enough on the bottom for both the pump and the primary tubing bend and also matches the interior decoration of the area and the water feature itself. You do not want the bowl to stand out from the water feature, but to blend into it and be a naturally looking part of it.

Protect your water pump. Once the water pump is placed in the container it needs to be sheltered and hidden from view. You can purchase covers for most water pumps or you can use your imagination to construct your own. Try different sized containers by placing them over the water pump. You can make holes or slits in them for the tubing and power cord. It is possible to furthermore use the actual rocks of the water feature to protect your pump. You can do this by making walls around the water pump by stacking the rocks up and then place longer flat rocks across (over) the pump. If you do this, make certain the rocks are sturdy enough to protect the water pump.

Add the finishing touches and test your new indoor water feature. Insert the copper elbow on the end of the tubing to force the water flow down over the rocks. Once you have the pump protected, you can add more rocks (stones, marbles or any other items you desire) around and over the pump. Bring the tubing up through the middle. Place larger rocks on the bottom of your water feature and the smaller ones on top and make sure all of them will stay in place. Follow the directions supplied with the water pump to adjust the water flow.
