Instructions

    • 1

Gather your materials. Red, purple, yellow, white, pink and green construction paper will be your staples for making roses. You will also need either a glue stick or liquid glue, scissors and a pencil to sketch the roses before you cut them out. If you plan to glue your rose to a background, select a piece of paper to use as the background.

    • 2

Sketch the roses on the construction paper with your pencil. You may want to sketch a rose as a whole or sketch individual petals that you will combine for a more textured look. If you choose the individual petals, cut out a circle piece that will serve as the middle part of the rose. Draw the stem of the roses on the green construction paper. You may want to add leaves or thorns to your stem sketch for an added effect. Sketch as many roses as you wish, and remember a stem for each rose.

Cut out the stems, leaves and rose petals from the construction paper. Erase any pencil markings from the pieces you cut out so they will not be noticeable on your completed project. Assemble the roses by layering the petals in a circle around the middle piece until you get the look you desire. If you need more layers, cut out some additional petal pieces. Add your stem and leaves to finish the look.

Glue your rose pieces together and add the stem and leaves. Glue them onto a background piece of paper if you desire. This will make your project less messy. Add finishing touches to your completed rose project. Glitter will spice up your roses and make them sparkle. Adding landscape details such as grass, sky and sun will complete your picture if you choose to use a background.

Tips & Warnings
