How to Charter a Jet to Mexico
Once upon a time, chartering a jet was only for the very famous or the very rich. You would see celebrities hopping on their jets to travel to a movie premier, or an athlete renting a plane for a trip overseas. Now that those same celebrities are choosing to buy their own airplanes, it’s become easier than ever to charter a private plane. Here's how to charter a jet to Mexico.

1
Choose a date when you’d like to travel, and have a few alternate dates in mind. Many companies require you select a date from the times and days they have available. If you can travel on a variety of days, you’ll have a better selection.

2
Find a charter company that travels to Mexico. There are thousands of companies that provide private flights, but not all of those companies travel to foreign countries. Charter Logic provides charter flights to Mexico, as does Stratos Jet Charter Services (see Resources). Depending on where you live, you may find smaller companies working out of local airports that offer flights to Mexico as well.

3
Contact the company with your information, including the number of people traveling, the ages of the travelers, the date you want to travel and where you plan on departing from. There are some companies who will limit the amount of people on a flight or prohibit people under a certain age. In some cases, they may travel to your local airport or they may require you to travel to them.

4
Reserve the jet for the date you need. When you use Charter Logic or Stratos Jet Charter Services, you can charter your jet online by reserving a certain date and time with your credit card. With other companies, you’ll need to call directly to book your flight.

5
Arrive at your hanger or destination with your bags and your information in place. To travel to a foreign country, you need to have a passport, even if you travel through private charter. It may be helpful to also bring along a copy of your birth certificate in case you lose your passport while on your trip.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure you ask the charter company what’s included in your flight. Some companies may include drinks, snacks and even meals during the flight, while other companies may not have any services available.
Don’t charter a jet unless you check beforehand that it flies out of your local airport. You might book a flight only to discover that the company has a non-refundable policy in place, and their nearest location to you is a seven- or eight-hour drive.
