How to Make Tissue Paper Tulips

Creating tissue paper tulips is a fun craft that can be done by people of all ages. You can make an entire bouquet to decorate any space in your home. You can make tissue paper tulips in a variety of colors to match your home's decor. The best thing is these tulips will never wilt. Read on to learn how to make tissue paper tulips.

Things You'll Need

• Tissue paper
• Craft or floral wire
• Wire cutters
• Scissors
• Florist tape

Instructions

Make the Petals

1. Use a variety of colors of tissue paper to make the petals.

2. Don't worry if your petals are not uniform. Most flowers found in nature do not have uniform petals.

3. To make tulip petals, cut out tear drop shapes in the tissue paper. You can cut out several petals at once by stacking the tissue paper. You will need approximately four to six petals per flower.

4. If you want leaves on your flowers, use green tissue paper and cut out a variety of sizes of leaf shapes.

Assemble the Flowers

1. Take a small scrap piece of tissue paper and crinkle it into a ball. Cover this ball with a piece of yellow tissue paper to create the center of the flower. Leave enough of the yellow tissue paper at the bottom of the ball to gather with the flower petals.

2. Take the flower center and arrange four to six petals around the center. Gather the bottoms of the petals together with the left over tissue paper at the center ball.

3. Twist the bottoms of the petals together. Take a 12-inch length of floral wire and wrap it around the gathered tissue paper. Secure with florist tape.

4. Continue wrapping the florist tape down the length of the stem.

5. Attach the leaves to 6-inch lengths of floral wire. Attach the leaf wires to the stem using the florist tape.

6. You've now created a paper tulip. Repeat the process for each tulip you want in your bouquet.
